In response to the program “Tet for the poor” of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, in the morning of January 24, Faculty of Business Administration and Foreign Trade – Lac Hong University organized a launching ceremony to offer Tet gifts to poor households and single people.
Attending the program was the presence of Vice Rector Dr. Nguyen Van Nam – Dean of the faculty, Meritorious Teacher Le Thi Hieu – Head of Dormitory Managing Board, Ms. Tran Ngoc Thuy – Secretary of the cell 8, Mr. Le Son Quang – Secretary of Youth Union, Mr. Tran Tien – Deputy Secretary of Youth Union, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of faculty’s Youth Union Nguyen Thi Khanh Van and Ngo Thi Kim Anh and the great participation of teachers, staff and students at all levels.
At the program, Secretary of faculty’s Youth Union Nguyen Thi Khanh Van reported mobilizing process to raise money and promised to carry out this charity program successfully so as to bring a warm Tet to the poor.
In his speech, Secretary of Youth Union Le Son Quang praised efforts and contributions the faculty’s cadres, members of Youth Union and Student Association have made over the past time and also awarded an honor flag to the Executive Committee of Youth Union and appealed the youth’s voluntary actions.
Also at the ceremony, on behalf of the University Managing Board, Dr. Nguyen Van Nam expressed his hope that the charity program would partly help poor households and single people to have a warm and full Tet.
After nearly one month to raise money, the faculty’s Youth Union has collected VND 15 million. The Organizing Board has used this money to prepare 30 gifts including rice, sugar, confectionery, seasoning, ….. to support 30 poor families in Buu Long, Tan Mai, Tam Hiep, An Binh wards and some areas of Vinh Cuu district.
The program has received the great support from collectives and individuals. Specifically, the Faculty of of Business Administration and Foreign Trade raised VND 8, 700 million and 50 kilos of rice. Lam Thanh Hien, M.A donated VND 2 million. Ms. Le Thi Hieu, Nguyen Ho Xuan Huong, M.A and Huynh Cao Tuan, M.A each offered VND 500 thousand.
After this ceremony, the great number of teachers, Youth Union – Student Association members, and students will come to localities to offer Tet gifts to poor families and single people.
