Receiving the care and permission from the University Management Board, the Faculty of Oriental Studies recently held an extracurricular program for Lao – Cambodian students on their traditional festival.
The aim of this program was to assist Lao – Cambodian students to have more understanding about each other, to strengthen the relationship as well as to create opportunities of using Vietnamese language. Besides, it showed the special care and great support from the University Managing Board and faculty members on the occasion of their New Year's Festival.
Accompanying with students was Vice Dean Nguyen Huu Nghi, M.A, head teachers, Vietnamese teaching lecturers and members of 4 oversees classes.
Joining in the extracurricular program, oversees students ardently attended a variety of activities. Firstly, they took a visit tour to Dong Nai Museum. At here, students had opportunities to learn about the land and people of Dong Nai province. Then they joined in interesting games and activities in Dai Nam Tourist - Cultural - Historical Zone (Binh Duong province).
At Dai Nam, oversees students had chances to show their Vietnamese speaking abilities when participating in “Vietnamese Eloquence” and “Art Performance in Vietnamese” contests held by teachers. In spite of only 4 months of learning Vietnamese, students confidently expressed their Vietnamese speaking competence and showed their talents in performances.
The extracurricular program was held successfully, leaving deep impressions and rememberable memories in oversees students’ hearts.
