In the evening of May 12, the final round of Robocon Vietnam 2013 took place quarterfinal, semifinal and final rounds at Tien Son Sports Palace in Da Nang City. This was the fourth consecutive year that the Lac Hong University won the champion title at Vietnam Robocon.
The contest this year saw the participation of 32 best teams from universities, colleges and vocational training schools nationwide. These teams have competed over the rounds of 1/32, 1/16 and 1/8 which was held from May 7 to 12 to choose the champion of Vietnam Robocon 2013.
At the semifinal of the contest, the three teams LH-ET*, LH-SEE, LH-NVN EAGLE were all from Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University. They have gained absolute wins before strong opponents from Sao Do University, Duy Tan University, Vinh Phuc College of Economic and Technology, Da Nang University of Technology.
At the first semifinal, LH-SEE officially eliminated its fellow - LH-ET*, while LH-NVN EAGLE surpassed Da Nang University of Technology at the second semi-round.
The final round saw the match between the two teams from LHU - LH-SEE and LH-NVN EAGLE. As a result, LH-SEE took the champion title. Unusually, the second ad third places belonged to Lac Hong teams - LH-NVN EAGLE and LH-ET*, respectively.
The two teams from LHU are competing with each other at the final round.
Lac Hong University’s teams also won the second prize at Robocon Techshow for their product "SSR automatic assembly robot" and got Best technology prize of Toyota.
Accordingly, the Organizing Board has selected the best two teams representing Vietnam to take part in the ABU Asian-Pacific Robot Contest 2013 to be held in August in Da Nang city, Vietnam.
