Recently, LHU students of Korean Studies - Faculty of Oriental Studies took part in the 1st K-Speech contest held at University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU-HCM by the Sejong Centre in cooperation with Korean Eloquence Association and Life Plaza Magazine. The purpose of the contest was to find out the best candidate for the 18th international Korean speech contest which will be held in Ha Noi in the coming time.
The competition attracted the crowded participation of contestants belonging to the three main subjects:
- Korean contestants who are elementary and secondary pupils at Korean International School in Ho Chi Minh city.
- Vietnamese students who are studying Korean language at Southern Universities such as Lac Hong University, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hong Bang International University, Ho Chi Minh city University of Foreign Languages - Information Technology, Thu Duc College of Technology.
- Vietnamese contestants coming from Korean Centers in Ho Chi Minh city like Sejong Centre and Korean - Vietnamese Language School.
Coming to the contest, LHU had two junior students Ngo Thi Thom and Tran Thi Truc Quyen who are studying Korean Studies. As a result, they got Excellent Student prize. Although, it was not the honorable prize, it cannot be denied that LHU students of Korean Studies are making good marks at national playgrounds.
