Students of Korean Studies joined in Hangeul Festival 2013

In 1443, the King Sejong and his court officials began to study and invented Hangeul script (한글) now called Hankuko (한국어). In order to show gratitude and memorize this event, Korean government has decided to select October 9 as the anniversary of Korean handwriting.

As usual, the Korean Foundation, Korean Cultural Institute, KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), Korean Consulate in Ho Chi Minh city in association with University of Social Sciences and Humanities held Hangeul Festival 2013 on October 27 with the aim of linking Korean language training universities and centers in Southern region in order to exchange and learn about Korean cultural activities.

The festival this year attracted the great participation of 12 units which train Korean language such as Ho Chi Minh city University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Da Lat University, Ho Chi Minh city University of Foreign Languages - Information Technology, Hong Bang University, Van Hien University, Binh Duong University, Sai Gon College of Art Culture and Tourism, Thu Duc College of Technology, Korean - Vietnamese Center, Korean International school, Sejong Center and Lac Hong University.

Joining the Hangeul Festival 2013, students of Korean Studies - Oriental Studies Faculty - Lac Hong University took part in many cultural activities and game shows such as Good literature - Fine handwriting, Korean language and culture, Korean - Vietnamese Food, Art performance,...

Closing the festival, students of Lac Hong were awarded Consolation prize in experiencing Korean culture and Prospect Talent prize in Art performance by the Organization Board.
