Right after Dong Nai - based Lac Hong University won the championship title at 2014 Asia-Pacific Robot Contest held in India, NHK Japan Television came to Vietnam to find out What's the secret behind Vietnam - Lac Hong robot team's victory?
NHK reporter is recording robot of Lac Hong University at 2013 Asia-Pacific Robot Contest.
And at 2014 Asia-Pacific Robot Contest.
Beginning the five minute report, reporter Kazuomi Shimz of NHK World stressed that "Vietnam robot team has overwhelmed its rivals from the preliminary to the final round". NHK World has introduced "The Asia Pacific Robot Contest or Robocon was held in India in August. 18 universities from 17 countries and regions took part. Participants tested their technological skills and ideas with their handmade robots. Vietnam - Lac Hong University grabbed the title. The powerhouse is one of the top teams every year.
Lac Hong University is in Dong Nai province near Ho Chi Minh city in Southern Vietnam. It was founded nearly twenty years ago. The university focuses on nurturing engineers in the electronic and technical fields.Students are encouraged to take part in the robot contest to help them acquire high level skills. A test field for robots was set up six years ago. Many Vietnamese are aware that Lac Hong and Robocon have a strong connection.
Nguyen Van Cuong, student of LHU shared with NKH World "I wanted to enter university that has a reputation of robotics". "University officials say companies are keen to hire skilled graduates".
A recruiter from Japanese medical equipment visited the University. Mr. Yoshihisa Sugioka from Vietnam Create Medic Co., Ltd. revealed "Event companies that have never hired Lac Hong graduates know the school is famous for its strong performance at Robocon. Vice Rector of LHU Lam Thanh Hien stated "It 's an honor for us to see our students finding jobs. It makes me even happier than winning Robocon."
"Some graduates from Lac Hong are already displaying their potential in their workplace. Tran Van Minh is one of these graduates. He was hired by a Japanese electronic parts manufacturer in Southern Vietnam in June. He helped to design robots that are used to make parts". "My experiences in Robocon are great help for me at work. I continue to do my best to contribute to the company", added Tran Van Minh ".
The company is putting high hopes on employees like Minh. Preventative of Nec tokin Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. Masahiko Sato said " We are hiring the mass-industry ready to work in the front line. They certainly haven't disappointed us."
"Lac Hong University students are devoted to making robots. They are acquiring variable manufacturing skills through their experiences at Robocon."
Ending the report was the image Lac Hong University was celebrating their triumph in past August in Pune, India. Students of the University will continue their passion for robot and acquire high level of technological knowledge through annual robot contest.
