LHU student won Consolation Prize at the 4th Korean Writing Contest

 

On April 25, the 4th Southeast Asian Regional Korean Writing Contest took place at Ho Chi Minh City, held by Sung Kyun Kwan University. Established in 1938, Sung Kyun Kwan University initially named Sung Kyun Kwan Palace which trained and educated princes and royal members. It was also the place to worship Confucius and ancestors. Hangeul Writing and the majority of Korean culture were built and developed here. Currently, Sung Kyun Kwan has become one of the leading universities in Korea with its construction of high quality research centers which is sponsored by Sam Sung Corporation.

The competition was firstly held in 2013 in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of Korean Studies majored students across the country. Presently, the contest attracted the great attendance of Korean majored students from Southeast Asian counties including Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. The noblest reward of the contest is a full study abroad scholarship for postgraduate education at Sung Kyun Kwan University offered to gold, silver and bronze winners.

Participating in this competition, LHU had two students from Oriental Studies Faculty namely Hoang Hong Nhung from class 13DH112 and Le Thuy Phuong Thuy from class 13DH111. Representing more than 150 students of Korean Studies major - LHU, they are excellent students who competed with 31 candidates from other countries.

On behalf of LHU - Faculty of Oriental Studies - Korean Studies major, Hoang Hong Nhung and Le Thuy Phuong Thuy attended the contest.

The Organization Board awarded Consolation prize to Hoang Hong Nhung.

Excellently overcoming other candidates, Hoang Hong Nhung won Consolation prize at "Potential writing" category. This is happiness of Hong Nhung and all students of Korean Studies major as well. This reward acknowledges the effort in teaching and learning of teachers and students of Korean Studies major. In addition, this is a great encouragement which helps students be more confident when joining in other contest in the future.
