In the morning of August 11, a delegation from Office of BUILD-IT Vietnam had a working session with LHU to discuss final steps to implement Build - IT project. This is a project aiming at enhancing undergraduate educational competence, carried out by the government of United States of America and Arizona State University (ASU).
Director of BUILD-IT Project - Dr. Kathy Wigal introduced human resources of the project.
Receiving the delegation were Vice Rector Lam Thanh Hien, representatives of Mechatronics - Electronics Faculty, Information Technology Faculty, Examination and Quality Assurance Department, Academic Affairs Dept, International Relation Dept. and relevant staff. The Office of BUILD-IT Vietnam included Dr. Kathy Wigal - Director of BUILD-IT Project, Dr. Karl Theisen - Director of Arizona State University and senior coordinators of BUILD-IT Vietnam Office.
LHU is one of the seven universities in Vietnam honored to join in this project. This working session, the two sides introduced their coordinators and discussed the contents needed implementing in the coming time.

After the working session, BUILD-IT Vietnam Office visited Lac Hong Open workshop where provides equipment and tools helping students to realize their ideas into practical products. This is a playground, an open and free workshop offered to students, teachers and companies to work together to develop new products. Lac Hong Open workshop is one the ideas in carrying out the BUILD-IT Project. Director of BUILD-IT Project Kathy Wiga proved to be interested and pleased with this University's activity.
Established in 2010, “BUILD – IT” is a project of US Government in cooperation with Intel and ASU, aiming at changing policies of universities from management to others. Up to now, the project has experienced two stages and it currently is at the third one (2015 - 2020). Late 2015, LHU officially joined in this project.
