LHU students joined in Hangeul Festival 2016

On October 23, to celebrate the 570th year anniversary of Hangeul (Korean alphabet), the 7th Hangeul Festival was held at the campus of HCM University of Social Sciences and Humanities, attracting the great participation of students from Southern universities, colleges and foreign centers such as HCM University of Social Sciences and Humanities, HCM City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Lac Hong University, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University, Da Lat University,... The festival also drew the crowded attendance of young persons who love Korean language, country and people.

Hangeul Festival is annually held in Korea to celebrate King SeJong and contemporary scholars who invented Korean alphabet in 1443 and officially issued in 1446. Since 2010, this festival has been organized in Vietnam by Korean Culture Center (KCC), Korean Foundation, KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) in association with Ha Noi University of Social Sciences and Humanities and HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Hangeul Festival aims to promote and share the cultural values of Hangeul to everyone, also create a playground for all Korean language learners; linking Korean language training universities and centers in Southern region; populating Korean culture and strengthen the mutual understanding and cooperation relation between Vietnam - Korea.

The 7th Hangeul Festival attracted the crowded participation of Korean language learning students.

Participating in the Hangeul Festival 2016, LHU students of Korean Studies - Oriental Studies Faculty actively took part in many cultural activities and gameshows. Ending the festival, LHU students won Second prize for booth decoration “Korean space” and Consolation prize for "Your Face Sounds Familiar" competition.
