In the morning of October 24, LHU organized a seminar "Applying information technology in training to meet the fourth industrial revolution". The seminar attracted nearly 80 participants as leading experts, managers and lecturers in the field of IT.
The event saw the presence of 30 professors, associate professors, PhDs and PhD students of universities and research institutes across the country.
Presiding at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu - Head of Training Department of VNU - HCMC said that was the first IT seminar to change the training methods to meet the industrial revolution 4.0 and LHU was the pioneer in organizing and sharing information with scientists in that field.
Postgraduate Huynh Cao Tuan - Director of Information Technology and Resources Center presented the IT application at LHU.
Mentioning the importance of the industrial revolution 4.0, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Nang Toan - Director of the Institute of Information Technology, VNU Ha Noi and many experts agreed that to gain success and right direction in terms of IT applying in training, institutions needed to have an insight into the 4.0 industrial revolution to make the right investment, right purpose to help students access training programs close to the reality.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Nang Toan - Director of the Institute of Information Technology, VNU suggested the training method changing before the industrial revolution 4.0.
The seminar aimed at exchanging information. Therefore, institutions needed to cooperate and learn from each other to create more strength for applying IT in training, whereby, aiming to develop the advanced university management system based on modern information and technology infrastructure, contributing to improving labor productivity, reducing operation costs for units, officials, lecturers and students.
Currently, with the development strategy and student-centered training, LHU has established a policy of investing both human and material resources to develop the Information Technology and Resources Center - the unit specializing in researching and developing modern IT application programs in managing, especially teaching, practice for students, also conducting software technology transferring activities. In addition, to strengthen IT students' abilities to program software for technology transfer, the University has put the Comlab practice room into operation. Before that, the University won the First Prize at Vietnam IT Start-Up Contest.
