On May 5, Mr. Watanabe Nobuhiro - Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City visited and exchanged with more than 200 students of Japanese Studies major under the Faculty of Oriental Studies, LHU.
The delegation of Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City also included Mr. Shiraishi Hideyuki - Head of Culture Department and Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Uyen - Secretary.
Receiving the delegation were Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai - Chairwoman of Board of Trustees; DSc. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Vice Rector in charge of International Affairs; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Vice Rector; Assoc. The Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City visited and worked with LHU
At the meeting, the Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City highly appreciated the Japanese language training of LHU. Also, he expressed his pleasure to know that the University has established many cooperation ties with Japanese organizations and businesses. In particular, LHU also has a branch under the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in Dong Nai province. He hoped LHU would actively participate in exchange activities organized by the Consul General of Japan in the coming time.
Mr. Watanabe said that he would actively introduce LHU to Japanese businesses, especially those investing in Dong Nai, providing scholarship information and Japanese cultural documents for LHU's Japanese major. He hoped that students would actively improve their Japanese language ability and learn about Japanese culture to meet the requirements of Japanese businesses.

Up to now, the Japanese Studies major of LHU has been established for 20 years, training and providing human resources to serve Japanese businesses in Dong Nai and neighboring provinces. Its students have won many awards in Japanese speech contests. Many of them have also received full scholarships from the Japanese Government such as Mext scholarships, Jasso scholarships, Kobe International University's exchange scholarships, Kamimura Academy's scholarships...
