A seminar on ABB industrial robots serving teaching for vocational schools took place on February 14 at Lac Hong University with the participation of 55 nationwide universities, colleges and technical colleges. The seminar was organized by Sun Company Limited (a leading supplier of industrial robots, automobile accessories in Viet Nam) in cooperation with Lac Hong University.

The seminar attracted the interest of all delegates by information about robotic package for education. The package was designed to help students learn about how industrial robots work, principles of control and design of industrial robots and robot workstation, Offline programming software, RobotStudio, and so on. In addition, the package can help students increase awareness of operation principles of industrial robots applied in modern production processes. At the seminar, Mr. Huynh Phong Phu – a representative in charge of industrial robots of ABB Group introduced the robotic package in detail and gave responses to delegates’ questions.
For his part, Director of global products of ABB Group Birtil Thovaldsson introduced RobotStudio software to the participants. This is ABB's simulation and offline programming software, allowing actual simulation about robot applications.
Also, each participating school will be presented RobotStudio software. The worth of the copyrighted software is estimated at US $ 7000 per year. Beside the software, each will receive an English manual, a CD simulating how to use the software, a Vietnamese guide on how to operate and program robots and a copyright certificate granted by ABB.

Speaking at the event, Vice Rector of Lac Hong University, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan expressed her delight at co-organizing the event and stressed that “ Lac Hong University is a prominent name in training technological fields. Particularly, it won the championship title for the second time at Robocon Vietnam, took second and third place in the 2010 and 2011 Asia-Pacific Robocon contest, respectively. Moreover, members of Robocon teams may become excellent instructors and future heads of valued research topics in technology”.
Holding the seminar offered Lac Hong University and 55 others the opportunity to learn about robot packages for education as well as to approach robot technology of one of the world’s leading companies, ABB.
