Seminar introducing LabVIEW software

LabVIEW (short for Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Engineering Workbench) is software developed by National Instruments Company. LabVIEW is also known as a programming language by expressing syntax through visual images.

LabVIEW is widely used in laboratories, in field of science and technology such as automatics, cybernetics, electronics, electronic mechanics, aeronautics, chemistry, biomedicine electronics,…

Main functions of LabVIEW can be summarized as follow:

  • Collecting signals from outside devices like temperature sensors, photos from webcam, speed of engines,…
  • Communicating with peripheral devices via many communication standards and communication gates RS232, RS485, USB, PCI, Ethernet
  • Stimulating and dealing with received signals to serve research purposes or aims of system programmers want
  • Building user interfaces quickly
  • Allowing fast implementation of control algorithms like PID, Fuzzy Logic via available integrated functions in LabVIEW
  • Allowing the combination with traditional programming languages like C, C++, Matlab, VB ...
