In the mornig of 13 December 2012, a conference was held by Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee to summarize the five year (2007 - 2012) implementation of the preferential credit program for disadvantaged students in the locality. Ms. Nguyen Ho Xuan Huong – Head of Student Affairs attended and reported at the conference.
At the event, Lac Hong University was honorably awarded certificate of merit by provincial People’s Committee for its achievements in preferential credit program for students in the locality, stage 2007 - 2012.
The preferential credit program of the government with low interest meets parents and students’ expectation, facilitating many students with difficult circumstances. This is also education socializing form in order to narrow the gap of knowledge in the community.
During the past years, Lac Hong University collective in addition to training, research activities and technology transfer actively implemented the Decision No 157/2007/QD-TTG, dated on 27 September, 2007 by the Prime Minister on the credit for disadvantaged students. The university Managing Board has created every condition for target clients, making every effort to reduce the number of students who leave school by their financial problem. Over the past five years, the preferential credit program has benefited more than 51,000 students from disadvantaged households and policy families. Among them, 3,961 students were provided loans at Dong Nai province Bank for Social Policies with VND 57,814 biliion.
By providing loans for each student, the program has helped many poor students advance their study despite their financial difficulties. Especially, there is no case of students who drop out university because of difficult circumstances. Lac Hong University will also make further efforts to ensure the loans come to needy students.
