In the morning of 5 January, 2013, a ceremony was held at Dong Nai provincial Conference Centre to give Vietnamese Young Science Talents Award 2012 to hundreds of students and young lecturers. The event was broadcast live on VTV2 by Vietnam Television.
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Quy – Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Le Hong Phuong – Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Ms. Huynh Thi Nga - Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri. - Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Long Hai – Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, People’s Teacher Dr. Do Huu Tai – Rector of Lac Hong University, representatives from departments, agencies of Dong Nai, representatives from universities, academies and a great number of teachers, students nationwide.
Vietnamese Young Science Talents Award was secondly held for students and firstly for young lecturers. The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Union Of Science And Technology Association (Vietnam Fund For Supporting Technological Creations - VIFOTEC), the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Television and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). Lac Hong University was honorably commissioned to cooperate and host the ceremony by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Ta Duc Thinh - Director General of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment under the Ministry of Education and Training said “According to experts, the award this year has collected so many research works of students and young lecturers with newness, creativity, diverse contents. Some can be widely applied in the real life and some topics have mentioned problems the society is greatly concerned.”
Vietnam Young Science Talents Award 2012 for young lecturers was firstly held with 94 works from 29 universities. Research works with high prizes will be published on prestigious international journals of science.
Vietnam Young Science Talents Award 2012 for students had 311 works. 279 were of 77 public universities and 32 of 11 non-public.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Board awarded 5 First, 18 Second, 21 Third and 26 Consolation fo to young lecturers. Non-public universities group had 1 First, 2 Second and 1 Consolation. Also, 11 First, 20 Second, 70 Third and 126 Consolation were awarded to students. Non-public universities group had 1 First, 2 Second, 4 Third and 11 Consolation.
Accordingly, young lecturers and students of Lac Hong University won 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 1 consolation prize, specifically
-One First belonged to Doan Thi Tuyet Le – Lecturer of Environment and Biotechnology Faculty
-Two Second belonged to Cao Van Du and Nguyen Thai Thanh Truc – Lecturers of Food and Chemical Technology Faculty
-One First belonged to student Pham The Hieu – Faculty of Food and Chemical Technology
-One Second belonged to student group Nguyen Van Tuan and Vo Cong Danh - Faculty of Electro Mechanics.
Also at the ceremony, the Award Steering Committee praised the efforts and achievements of students and young lecturers, especially Lac Hong University – the unique non-public university had students and young lecturers wining first prizes.
Addressing at the event, People’s Teacher Dr. Do Huu Tai - Rector of Lac Hong University sincerely shared “We are very concerned about scientific research as one of our important missions. The university is only a four or five level high school without scientific research. It is not only a movement but also an important function and a regular action.”
