In the morning of January 9, Dong Nai province’s Fatherland Front Committee organized a ceremony to award “Nguyen Van Ky” scholarships to studious poor students of Dong Nai University and Lac Hong University.

Attending the ceremony was Nguyen Van Ky’s wife Le Thi Tru, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri, Chairman Vy Van Vu of Dong Nai province’s Fatherland Front Committee, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Education and Training Pham Thi Hai, Rector of Lac Hong University People’s Teacher Dr. Do Huu Tai, Vice Rector Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, representatives of departments and faculties and 100 students.
Nguyen Van Ky is a former Secretary of Bien Hoa Party Committee. Nguyen Van Ky Scholarship Fund was established in 2012, sponsored by his wife Le Thi Tru with VND1 billion. The fund aims to support students in remote areas and poor students in Dong Nai province.

At the ceremony, Nguyen Van Ky’s wife Le Thi Tru had a talk with students of Lac Hong and Dong Nai. She reviewed glorious traditions of our ancestors for students and reminded them of living well to be able to contribute to the development of the country.

On the occasion, the organizers awarded 150 scholarships worth VND 3 million each to outstanding but poor students studying at Dong Nai and Lac Hong universities. Lac Hong University was honored to have 50 scholarship receivers. It is hoped that the scholarship will partly help them overcome difficulties. On behalf of the university’s leadership and students, sincere thanks are sent to Mrs Le Thi Tru for her support. It is wished that the Nguyen Van Ky Scholarship Fund will attract more interest and support from enterprises, departments, sponsors, organizations and benefactors to give wings to students’ dreams.
