The final round of Robocon Vietnam 2014 was closed in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province on May 11. Two teams from the Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University, LH-NVN and LH-DCN, won the first and second prizes at Vietnam Robocon 2014. This is the fifth consecutive year Lac Hong University has won the champion title at Vietnam Robocon.
Eight teams from universities, colleges and vocational training schools nationwide competed at the final round of Robocon Vietnam. Four of them were from Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University including LH-NVN, LH-Q, LH-112 and LH-DCN. At the semifinal, LH-NVN and LH-DCN competed with DTU -TITAN from Duy Tan University, Da Nang and UNETIDT21 from University of Economic and Technical Industries, respectively. As a result, the two teams from Lac Hong University were selected for the final round.
Beside champion title and second prize, Lac Hong teams won Best solution; Best technology; Best automatic machine and Best idea prizes sponsored by the Toyota Motors Vietnam.
On this occasion, the champion - LH-NVN team handed over its champion prize money, US$1,400, to send to soldiers who stationed in Truong Sa Island to protect the country.
Lac Hong University has so far championed Robocon Vietnam five times in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
They will represent Vietnam at the 2014 ABU Asian-Pacific Robot Contest which is scheduled for August in India.
