The 33rd English Speaking Club meeting took place in the morning of Saturday, May 31st, 2014 with the familiar topic: “Music”. The games including “Musical puzzles”, “Guess the song”, “Sing along”, “Find the missing words” not only aroused the atmosphere during the meeting but also motivated non-English major students to love learning English. Using these games, the club hosts intended to convey the message about positive influences of music on life and especially on English learning. Using English songs is one of the most inspiring and effective ways in learning English because users can both improve listening skill and expand the knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation,…The teachers attending the meeting were totally surprised at students’ knowledge of music when they answered music-related questions during the meeting. More impressively, students bravely volunteered to sing English songs and actively discussed the topic.
