Observing the popularity of movie-going among students these days, teachers of Faculty of General English decided to select “Movie” as the topic of the 43rd English Speaking club meeting taken place at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday April 11th 2015.
From the beginning, the games of matching movie-related words, guessing movie O.S.T and cinema studios got participants involved and cheered up. Moreover, participants could take full advantage of the input for the next activities, especially expressing their opinions during the Discussion of this topic. Reading session provided students with history of movie, terms of movie ratings and some tips on how to choose a good movie to watch.
The club meeting became more exciting when all participants took part in a more difficult game called “Quick Reads”. In this game, two groups had to guess the titles of movies based on the movie synopses. Surprisingly and interestingly, the challenging game turned out to “strike the right chord” of participants_regular moviegoers.
“Happy” (Pharrell William’s song) from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack album was played to wrap-up the club meeting at 10.30.
