In the morning of November 14, LHU in cooperation with Software Telecom Vietnam Co, Ltd. organized an exchange program "Robot NAO visits LHU". The program attracted the participation of many students of Technical majors. At the program, LHU bought two humanoid robots names NAO to assist lecturers’ and students' research.
More than 300 students of Faculty of Mechatronics - Electronics and Faculty of Information and Technology attended and directly exchanged with Robot NAO.
NAO coming from Japan is the first humanoid robot of Software Corporation.
NAO is a humanoid robot, 58 cm in height, equipped with 25 electric motors in joints of neck, hands, knees, groins and high resolution cameras and hundreds of sensors in the head, limbs ... engines and software controlled by NAOq iOS Operating System. NAO is used in many countries in the world. Robot NAO, in addition to doing a series of external interaction, instructs learners to study and pronounce foreign languages correctly like a native speaker. Robot NAO is currently capable of recognizing human faces and speaking 21 different languages of countries in the world. In particular, this robot has the ability to interact, describe facial expressions, emotions and act like humans in communication.
The price of a robot NAO is from 10,000 - 15,000 USD. In the future, LHU will equip additional 7 robots to participate in Robocup all over the world.
Representing Software Japan Corporation, Mr. Morimoto Takashi - General Manager of Software Telecom Vietnam Co. Ltd. said in 20 years to come, robot would influence spread over the society and appear in more fields, as expected.

Currently in his 5th version, about 9,000 NAOs have already been sold throughout the world. Everyone can construct his own experience with specific applications based on his own imagination and needs. Mr. Morimoto Takashi added that "When NAO comes to your University, it is still a child. We nurture a new face. We believe that all of you will research and build applied software to make NAO more intelligent and grown-up."
In Vietnam, robot has been applied in many fields, especially in industrial factories, auto robot cleaners ... but applying robots into education is new. LHU is one of the few education institutions in Vietnam to lead this trend.
