LHU students win Third and Consolation prizes at 23rd Chinese Bridge Competition

Tran Ho Ngoc Hieu and Phan Thi Thuy majoring in Chinese Language, LHU respectively won a Third and a Consolation prize at the 23rd Chinese Bridge Competition for students from universities and colleges in Southern provinces and cities held on May 24 at HCM City University of Education.

The Chinese Bridge Competition is organized annually by the HCM City University of Education in collaboration with the Chinese Consulate General in HCM City to create a useful playground for Chinese language learners at universities and colleges in Southern Vietnam to exchange, express their love and understanding of Chinese language, culture, and artistic talent, at the same time promoting the friendship between the people of China and Vietnam.

This year’s competition took place with the theme "Same world, same home", attracting the participation of 33 contestants from 17 universities including University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM; HCM City University of Education; LHU; Ton Duc Thang University; Van Hien University; Thu Dau Mot University; Nguyen Tat Thanh University; Van Lang University; HCM City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology; Hong Bang International University; HCM City Open University; HCM City University of Economics and Finance; Hung Vuong University; HCM City University of Food Industry; Hoa Sen University; HCM City University of Industry and Trade and Nha Trang University.

At the competition, the contestants competed in three main parts. In the first part, they answered multiple-choice questions related to Chinese economic, political, social and cultural knowledge. For the Chinese language proficiency part, each contestant had 3-5 minutes to present the topic "The world is a family". In the artistic talent part, contestants demonstrated a variety of talents such as music, dance, choreography, musical instruments, calligraphy, painting, playing the zither, etc.)

Participating in the 23rd Chinese Bridge Competition, LHU had two contestants (Tran Ho Ngoc Hieu, class 21DT114 and Phan Thi Thuy, class 21DT112).

After three intense rounds, Ngoc Hieu and Thi Thuy won a Third and a Consolation prize, respectively.
