LHU's student team has recently won the First prize in the 2024 Drug-Free School Contest organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Public Security and Vietnam Television. The Contest took place on October 15, 2024 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - VNUHCM with the competition of nine universities in the Southern region.

The LHU team was made up of students from the Faculty of English Language, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, Faculty of Administration and International Economics and Faculty of Oriental Studies.
At the finale, the LHU team competed with two other teams from International University - VNUHCM, and University of Economics and Law - VNUHCM. After more than 3 hours of competition with 4 rounds (introduction, knowledge, presentation and talent), the LHU team demonstrated its well-prepared investment in script, project, practice as well as outstanding creativity.
As a result, the LHU team excellently won:
- The Best Anti-Drug Project
- The First Place in the 2024 Drug-Free School Contest
