Opening the Korean Resources room

     Faculty of Oriental Studies is one of the young departments of Lac Hong University, but it has made a mark in learning activities, scientific research as well as the areas associated with Japan, Korea, China. For the past time, leadership of the school has been taking special interest in the Asian Studies -developing strategy, making it a strong department, bearing a special mark of Lac Hong in comparison with Faculties of Oriental Studies of universities nationwide. In addition to the strong investment helping the Faculty build a modern and academic training program meeting the requirements of the labor markets, Lac Hong University pays attention to upgrading a strong teaching staff and modern facilities. It also associated with Japan in successfully building the Japanese Resources room serving for learning and research needs of students of Japanese Studies.

    Following that direction, Lac Hong University has cooperated with KOICA organization-Korea in building training programs on Korean Studies, supporting Korean teachers and hunting for scholarships for students of Korean Studies.

    Belonging to the series of activities of KOICA at Lac Hong University, KOICA organization has sponsored the Korean Department a Korean Resources room in order to provide students with resources of Korean culture, society, nation and people... and some equipment serving for the teachers’ teaching. On October 14th, 2010, the Korean branch of Oriental Studies held a opening ceremony of the Korean Resource room.

    Attending the ceremony were Dr. Tran Hanh - Chancellor of Lac Hong University, Dean of Oriental Studies, Mr. Lee Uk Heon - Director of KOICA in Hanoi, Korean and Vietnamese lecturers and students of Korean Studies of Lac Hong University.

    Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Tran Hanh on behalf of school’s leadership expressed his thanks to KOICA organization for its supporting in establishing the Korean Resources room. All what the school desires are that students of  Korean Studies are well- trained, meeting the requirements of the labor markets and following the philosophy of Lac Hong University:
"Training human resources
Breeding ground for young talent
Graduates get jobs immediately without re-training programs”
 
After the ceremony, Mr Lee Uk Heon together with the teachers and students of Korean Studies visited the Korean Resources room. Hopefully, the establishment of the Korean Resources room will bring students more opportunities to learn, get to know and study better.
