Activities Technology Contest Week in 2022 of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics

With the goal of creating a realistic learning environment and experience for students, besides enhancing practical courses, the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics (FOME) also organizes competitions related to the profession to help students gain a better understanding of the contents they have learned. As part of the activities in the 2022-2023 academic year plan, the FOME organized technology competitions for students majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Automation and Control Engineering Technology, and Mechatronics Engineering Technology in mid-December 2022.

    ELECTRICAL CABINE ASSEMBLY COMPETITION

On the morning of December 17, 2022, eight teams out of eleven (including 60 students) who had passed the "Student design of simulated electrical circuit diagram on software" qualifying round had an enthusiastic and energetic 230-minute final competition for the Electrical Cabinet Assembly Contest.

When registering for the competition, students were trained in the field of expertise for 05 sessions on devices and simulation software, and then actively practiced in groups in the lab to master the equipment and practice skills before competing. In the end, the team from class 20DC111 won first prize, ahead of other teams who finished the task in the fastest time.

Through the competition, students gained many learning skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and especially a better understanding of the knowledge they have learned in class.

    PLC CONTROL CABINET ASSEMBLY COMPETITION

Held on December 17, 2022, the atmosphere of the PLC Control Cabinet Assembly Competition was also very lively. With 30 teams (90 students) participating in the qualifying round, the Organizing Committee selected eight teams for the final competition, which lasted for 180 minutes.

    KOMA TAISEN COMPETITION

Accompanying other departments, students majoring in Mechatronics Engineering Technology also had a vigorous competition related to precision mechanical construction and processing to create spinning tops to participate in the Koma Taisen competition on the morning of December 19, 2022.

In 2022, there were 20 teams registered to participate in the competition, each consisting of 02 members. The members will research, design, and construct spinning tops that can spin for the longest period of time. Under the guidance of specialized teachers, students can proficiently use mechanical machining equipment to create the most efficient spinning tops.

In addition to organizing professional competitions, the faculty also encourages instructors to apply various teaching methods (flipped classroom, project-based learning) to help students understand the lesson easily, create a dynamic, interactive learning environment, promote critical thinking, and encourage self-study and research in each student. With a dynamic learning environment, students can confidently apply the knowledge they have learned and find a suitable work environment after graduation.
