More than 1, 000 volunteers join blood donation event
"Blood Donation is an annual campaign with greatly humane significance for Lac Hong’s youth. This is a conscious and responsible act for the community, showing the spirit of solidarity, a good deed of all staff and students of Lac Hong for those who really need help with the timely provision of blood from the heart of volunteers in the community, " Comrade Le Son Quang - Secretary of the union said.
On March 29, in honor of the Youth Year 2011 and the 80th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Lac Hong University’s youth union cooperated with Dong Nai province’s Red Cross Chapter and Cho Ray Regional Blood Transfusion and Haematology Centre to launch a humanitarian blood donation program.
The event has attracted the enthusiastic participation of teachers, staff and students. More than 1, 000 volunteers registered to take part in the campaign. Accordingly, the chapter collected 472 units of blood. This is the highest number for the past years, showing the spread of campaign and members’ sense of responsibilities in the school.
