On September 24, Deputy Consul General of China in HCM City Hach Chi Cuong and the working delegation visited LHU. The delegation presented LHU a multi-functional classroom (including 18 computers and smart electronic boards), and awarded 18 scholarships worth VND 180 million to difficult students majoring in Chinese Language.
At the reception, from LHU, there were Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai - Chairwoman of the University Council; Dr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Nghi - Dean of Faculty of Oriental Studies; Dr. Le Phuong Truong - Head of the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance; MA. Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh - Head of the Office of International Affairs cum Vice Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; leaders of departments and more than 200 Chinese Language majors.
This is the third year the Chinese Consulate General in HCM City has awarded scholarships to LHU students in order to help them have the opportunity to go to school and continue to complete their university programs.

Talking to Mr. Hach Chi Cuong, Dr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector said LHU had been training Chinese Language major for 20 years with about 100 students graduating each year. The students had won many awards at competitions organized by the Chinese Consul General.
The University had cooperated with many Chinese universities to strengthen cooperation in the fields of training, student exchange, scientific research,... organizing Vietnamese language courses for students of Chinese universities. LHU wished to continue receiving the support and connection of the Chinese Consulate General in HCM City to improve the quality of Chinese Language training and international cooperation in the field of education in general.
Deputy Consul General of China in HCM City Hach Chi Cuong highly appreciated LHU's training activities and said that he was willing to cooperate and support LHU to develop more and more.
