Recently, Vietnam Young Science Talent Award 2013 was solemnly held in Hanoi on January 4 by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Union Of Science And Technology Association (Vietnam Fund For Supporting Technological Creations - VIFOTEC), the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Television and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). The awarding ceremony saw the presence of Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan and Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan.
In 2013, the Steering Committee has received more than 300 scientific research projects carried out by students of 12 branch groups. These are excellent entries selected from thousands of projects by students from 84 nationwide universities, colleges and institutes. At the ceremony, the Organizing Board has awarded First, Second and Third prizes to 267 students with 211 topics. Also, the MOET bestowed merits to 9 outstanding instructors and 22 units for their excellent achievements in students' scientific research activities.
With every effort, LHU won 2 First, 1 Second and 1 Consolation, specifically:
First: Nguyen Thi Kim Nguyen and Le Thi Yen Nhi from Faculty of International Economics Administration
First: Nguyen Hoang Phong from Faculty of International Economics Administration
Second: Nguyen Anh Tuan from Faculty of Chemical and Food Engineering
Consolation: Bui Ngoc Duc and Hoang Van Toi from Faculty of Mechatronics - Electronics
On this occasion, the MOET also presented certificate of merit to LHU for its outstanding achievements in student research movement 2013 and awarded merits to Dr. Nguyen Van Tan, Dr. Nguyen Huynh Bach Son Long and Pham Van Toan, MSc who instructed First, Second and Consolation prize winners, respectively.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan praised outstanding prize winners and said that scientific projects by students were practical and useful. Through scientific research activities, each university, college has discovered potential talents. This is necessary human resources for national science and technology.
